Guild Spotlight – Blut und Schweiss (Blood and Sweat)

05/13/2015

When it comes to doing stuff in PvP, Trials in PvE, or dancing naked in taverns, this German-speaking guild offers a wide range of activities.

In our latest Guild Spotlight feature, we are interviewing the “Blut und Schweiss" guild, one which while getting involved in all sorts of activities in ESOTU, offers its members opportunities to confront and master the various challenges in Tamriel. Whether conquering the Imperial throne, vanquishing the Warrior, Mage or Serpent, or simply going fishing at the end of long day, this guild doesn't only spill a lot of blood and sweat - it also has a whole lot of fun!

Should your guild be under the spotlight too? We're on the lookout for other guilds to present here. Simply answer our questions from this discussion – or your own too – send us a few beautiful screenshots, and your guild may be featured here in 14 days' time!

Blut und Schweiss (Blood and Sweat)

What is the name of your guild? Does this name have a particular meaning or history?

We, the members of the Blut und Schweiss Guild, call ourselves this because we are bloody warriors in PvP and in PvE we make our opponents sweat.

When was the guild founded? Tell us how your guild came into being.

We founded the Guild on April 8th, since we kind of wanted to form a community within which we could all master the game together.

To which alliance has your guild sworn allegiance?

We are proud members of the Daggerfall alliance.

Why was this alliance chosen?

The Guild leaders had already fought with Daggerfall during the beta phase, after that a change was never even considered.

How many members does your guild have at the moment?

At the present time we have 75 members, all of whom are active.

Does your guild have a website?

http://www.clans.de/blutundschweiss

At what time of day is your guild most active?

Most of the members are active during the evening and on weekends. There is then a good possibility that half of the Guild is on. But during daytime we have several online gamers, housewives/husbands, pensioners and shift workers who also belong to our ranks.

Which languages or nationalities are represented in your guild?

We are a German-speaking Guild where Swiss, Germans and Austrians are very home.

What do your guild members most like to do together in ESOTU?

We love doing things together most of all. This means we go on PvE raids three times a week - that means Archive, Hel Ra and Sanctum and PVP raids take place 3 times a week. All of these events start in the evening at either 19:00 or 20:30.

What does your guild focus on mostly in the game? Do you prefer to explore dungeons, taking over Keeps in Cyrodiil, visiting taverns for role-plays, do you craft goods and trade them or is it a combination of all of these?

We are not a progress Guild. We don't dictate to anyone and tell them when and how often they have to be online. But we do pit ourselves against challenges together and at our own pace. Whether PvE or PvP, every one of us finds space to have fun. We also take up the Undaunted challenges together on a daily basis or go into the DSA on impulse, go fishing, go into instances, trade, go questing or grinding and farming. There are always comrades around to share a bit of fun and adventure.

What does your guild do that is unique?

The Blut und Schweiss Guild is active, organized, open and enduring and we like to dance naked… well, down to our Guild tabards, that is. Our common activities with all members in all areas of ESOTU mark us out. We have a lot of fun together, but we also know when it gets serious and when discipline is required.

We work with, and on, our members so that they are able to take up every challenge and get the most from themselves (in as much as they wish). Every Guild member can come raiding with us; we don't have any set core groups.

Is your guild part of a greater alliance of guilds? What was the reason for the connection?

No. We are not dependent on any other Guilds. We do help out smaller guilds from time to time to help them pull off raids.

Does your guild run particular events? If it does, let us know!

Around once a month, we get together for a Guild meeting in TeamSpeak where we exchange info and feedback, as well as ideas. That's where there was once the suggestion that we should put up an Emperor and the following week, we put one up twice.

Up to now, we have also produced four Guild videos which have been uploaded to our home page and mainly show us in PvP.

What has been your favorite or most unforgettable moment in your ESOTU guild up to now?

During the PvP week it was definitely when we made our female Guild leader Emperor in a covert night raid. Since then, we have put 10 Guild members on the Imperial throne; some of them even several times. We are regular “Emperor Monkeys."

And also in PvE, the awesome feeling when we cleared Hel Ra for the first time and had just two people still standing at the end. We all whooped for joy.

Has your guild secretly (or perhaps publicly) sworn itself to a Daedric Prince? If so, to which one?

Religious freedom is the rule with us, as well as the freedom to be a non-believer too.

After a long day of hardcore adventuring, where does your guild go for a bit of relaxation?

After taking part in demanding raids, there is often a small group that goes fishing. We'll also discuss amusing things in TS, and then catch ourselves still running around or hopping about in circles in the game.

Tell us five amusing facts about your guild.

  • We looking for members who start to sweat around bosses and who are sorry to lose blood to enemy players, and we then develop them so they make bosses bleed and enemy players sweat.
  • We have lots of insider jokes that have come about through our TS activity. One of us always greets his fellows with a genius-level genitalia-based expression; another one is crazy about trains and loves us all, and communicates this on a regular basis. Another older guy gets confused from time to time, and a lady in the Guild points him in the right direction.
  • When one particular guy dies during a raid, we [always] get the boss without any problem. He is our sacrificial saviour.
  • We like “Aschlöscherale," feasting and sausage rolls. We would love to have a Banana set with a 5 bonus for any opponent who comes close to slip up on.
  • We have lots of woman-power and a wide age range.

If any other players might want to join your guild, how should they contact you?

If you're interested and are at least 18 years old, apply on our home page or contact LaDy-JeN in-game.
